Ralph Machio....Funny or Die

Everyone has been belly-aching that no one should have touched the classic "The Karate Kid", mostly out of fear that it won't do the original justice. I think I'm in the minority of folks in my age-group who disagree. Still, what isn't there to love about the original. EVERYONE loved Ralph Macchio's portrayal of Daniel Larusso, and his coming of age. I hate that he hasn't worked much since his original rise to prominensce, but I'm glad that he can still laugh at himself. That being said, enjoy!

I snagged this from the big homie, Humanity Critic, over at his highly insightful, and deliriously funny blog, The Nappy Diatribe. He, CLEARLY, has great taste in music, and he's pretty luminary when expressing some of his other, ahem, interests! Peep him out. Now...to the business at hand. I've heard a lot about this Janelle Monae character, but never actually heard her music. Seeing this video, paired with her beautiful, melodic, and classic style is SO refreshing when considering the trash that masquerades as music on the radio nowadays (i.e. "Tell me rude rude boy can you get it up." My six year old hears this isht daily. SMDH). Oh...and Big Boi is a nice fit for this song. Me hopes that you enjoy this as much as I do!

Stevie Wonder's Tribute to Michael - The Way You Make Me Feel

Michael's gone, and things just don't quite feel right anymore. In tribute to Michael, at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th Anniversary, Stevie can't even maintain his composure when singing his rendition of The Way You Make Me Feel. The saddest thing to me is that in death, Michael doesn't get to see the outpouring of love and adoration that his friends, family, and fans have unleashed since his passing, which is so very sad b/c it was one of the chief things in his life that he yearned for. R.I.P. MJ!

P.S. As I was a BIG MJ fan, I don't have any idea either when I'll, if ever, stop posting random things about him. Just sit back and enjoy, like I do.

Saigon - Fatherhood

Due to the continuous pushing back of his album's release date, beef w/a million plus rappers, and his label woes, Saigon's buzz has gone from volcano-hot to simmering. However, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more talented emcee who's consistently making music this good. This song pulled a few personal heart-strings for me, and I loved it so much that I had to post it. I know he's a rapper, and he's trying to get money in the game like a LOT of others, but I'll continue to be a fan as long as he continues to generate real, honest, and poignant music. Keep doing your thing, Sai!
