Yeah...I know, I know...I've been doing a LOT of blog-jacking...but c'mon; my blogroll is composed of some pretty bright and luminary folks. Chief amongst them, mi sirena, Reina, who graciously (even though unknowingly...LOL), provided me with this. MJ for-EVAR, bidges!

Tanya Morgan?
Stuff like this is EXACTLY why iFux w/Dallas Penn! Before today, I had never heard of these dudes, but after doing my daily blog perusal, I came across these cats on Dallas' page. DOPE! Thanks again, DP!
Are You Aware of Domestic Violence
I saw this while visiting Reina's spot, and had to repost it. The numbers are scary, and are a compelling argument to do your part. I've begun by reposting this. What will you do?
(There are 543 names listed of women & children who have lost their lives to domestic violence. Why aren’t you as pissed as me?)
It’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month. (Obama declared it.) I also know it’s Breast Cancer month, but everyone seems to be acknowledging that. I’d rather discuss the one that’s closer to my heart.
As I stated before, the fight against Domestic Violence is my passion. Outside of my family, friends, & him, nothing is more important. Unfortunately, my bill collectors seem to be passionate about monies owed; therefore, I have to go do some work (this is why I’ve been AWOL for the past 2 weeks), but I did want to stop by and share the following with you.
◦Nearly one in every four women are beaten or raped by a partner during adulthood.
◦1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men have experienced an attempted or completed rape.
◦Three women are killed by a current or former intimate partner each day in America, on average.
◦Over 22 percent of women and 7.4 percent of men surveyed, reported being physically assaulted by a current or former partner in their lifetime.
◦Approximately 2.3 million people each year in the United States are raped and/or physically assaulted by a current or former spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend. Women who were physically assaulted by an intimate partner averaged 6.9 physical assaults per year by the same partner.
◦Approximately 37% of women seeking injury-related treatment in hospital emergency rooms were there because of injuries inflicted by a current or former spouse/partner.
◦Women are at an increased risk of harm shortly after separation from an abusive partner.
◦Approximately 15.5 million children are exposed to domestic violence every year.
◦Men exposed to physical abuse, sexual abuse, and adult domestic violence as children were almost 4 times more likely than other men to have perpetrated domestic violence as adults, according to a large study.
◦Incest accounts for half of all sexual abuse cases.
◦Children that are exposed to violence are more likely to attempt suicide, abuse drugs and alcohol, run away from home, engage in teenage prostitution, and commit sexual assault crimes.
◦Girls and young women between the ages of 16 and 24 experience the highest rate of intimate partner violence.
*Statistics taken from National Network to End Domestic Violence*
I will write another post on this soon, but I didn’t want another day to pass without acknowledging this month and my begging you & you to DO SOMETHING!
DO volunteer at a shelter this month. DO donate. DO serve. DO keep your hands to yourself. DO dial 911. STOP putting it out of your month as if it could never happen to you. You’ll want someone to help you. Just. DO SOMETHING!

Another reason why Mos Def is the Mos Def
Man...Mos continues to evolve in hip-hop b/c he STILL listens. He's as big a fan as any of us, and he adulation for his peers can actually be a tool enabling him to continue to grow artistically. Peep how much he digs MF Doom. (it's been said that the MF is for Metal Fingers...I like that). Enjoy!

Batman - The Dark Knight motion comic
All who know me know that I am a HUGE Batman fan. What can I say? Batman was my first word. LOL! Anywho, I found this while looking at motion comics on the tube, so enjoy!
Happy Belated, MJ!!!
Yesterday was Michael Jackson's born-day, and I missed posting something. I felt I should; it's the least I could do for one of my childhood heroes. I found this tribute vid that someone made featuring a bunch of his video scenes w/some of his leading ladies to one of my personal MJ faves, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" ft. Sadiah Garrett. RIP MJ.
Vince Carter Flight School
Though his best years are behind him, and he was never quite able to ascend into MJ's shoes, Vince Carter is probably still the all-time meanest dunker to ever do it. His performance in the All-Star Dunk Contest almost single-handedly revived the popularity of the event for the years that followed. Being a fan, I hope he does big things (i.e. Championhsip) in Orlando. It'd be great if he got one. Anyway, enjoy.

Origins of the Moonwalk?
I'm sure Michael received influence from some of these videos, but as I understand it, he was actually taught to moonwalk by Marcel and Jeffrey Daniel from SHALAMAR. Anywho, the man was smart in that he was able to take elements from other performers, incorporate them into what he did, and essentially make them his own. VERY interesting video. 3 mos. in a post-Michael Jackson world, and it sucks that he's not here to feel the love that he longed for for so long. RIP MJ.
Oh yeah...enjoy the vid.

Yo...this is suppossed to be satire, but honestly, it offends even me. I understand what the brothers were trying to convey. I'd hope that Hip Hop is scared straight...but somehow, I doubt it.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson - The King of Pop 1958- 2009
Yesterday was a very trying day for me. I've been a fan of Michael Jackson for as long as I can remember, and the news of his death struck me like an iron-clad fist. I am deeply saddened; it is a pain reminiscent of that which I felt when I lost my brothers. It TRULY angers me that the media has spent the last few years picking one of the greatest entertainers of our generation apart. Many of his problems developed as a result of the attention that they showered him with since he was 5 yrs. old. We praised his talent, but many mocked his condition; a fragile psyche crafted by years in the spotlight, deprived of a chance to ever be a child and have what many of us take for granted, the semblance of a normal life. I won't chide the media for being the ravenous, back-biting harpies that they are any further. I'd like to, instead, post something beautiful that a loved one shared with me, and reflect on the many positive things that this beautiful, misguided soul blessed us with. Rest in peace, brother. Memories of the wonderful things you blessed us with will ring forever in our hearts and minds.

Chante'....need I say Moore?
This weekend, I had the pleasure of seeing one of my FAVORITE singers, Mrs. Chante' Moore, thanks to Kyla, who was part of her opening act (thanks sis!)!!! I am a HUGE fan of Mrs. Moore, so I thought I would post this vid of her singing my FAVORITE song (Stevie's Do I Do)! Mrs. Moore was as beautiful, gracious, and magnetic as she is an incredible vocalist...and IMHO, she is ONE OF THE BEST! Thanks!
P.S. Sorry about "Rule" at the end of the vid...*SIGH*

Bruce Lee...the illest ping pong player EVAR?!!!
Man...I can't even front; this was jacked, DIRECTLY, from the illustrious Dallas Penn. I am one of the BIGGEST Bruce Lee fans EVAR, and this film appears to feature him playing ping=pong in his famous yellow track-suit, worn in the last of his films, Game Of Death. Enjoy, internets (yeah...I copped that term from Dallas too)!

I can beat Mike Jordan!
Okay...for real...not even in my DREAMS can I beat Michael Jordan. Though I'm not a fan of the fact that he's not exactly what you could call much of an activist, IMHO he's the best to ever lace them up. He hosts camps in which old, balding rich guys, CEOs and the like, pay top dollar to get basketball tips from the G.O.A.T. How bad is it when one of those guys actually BEATS him in a game of one-on-one? LAWD...I envy that guy SO MUCH. He's got to still be bragging about that one. "Michael Jordan...meh....he's not so tough. I beat him in a game of one-on-one." Dude is probably so cocky now that he can't even see the huge bald spot forming in the back of his head! LOL! Peep Damon Wayans having a little fun with Mike after his defeat!

Yes...We Did!
Yo...America...I'm proud of you. Just when you think that things couldn't get any worse, you've made the decision to seat a real leader in the White House who actually cares about the concerns of the common man. There's much work to be done, but we have taken that all-important first step. Kudos to us all.
Now that that's been said, please enjoy the campaign vid that my man, Dres of Black Sheep made. He reprised his 1991 CLASSIC "The Choice Is Yours" to big up our President-Elect, Barack Obama! Enjoy!

NBA Baller Devin Harris vs....Stuart Tanner?
Okay y'all....for those who didn't know, even though I'm about 4" from legally being a midget, I had some real hoop dreams. I played ball in high-school, and even though I wasn't born with any natural gifts (my height just about negated my OUTLANDISH 35-inch vertical leap), I worked really hard, and was actually pretty good. I still have a HELLA-QUICK first-step; it's the second and third that are far less impressive. Hoop dreams aside, I found this vid of New Jersey Net point guard, Devin Harris, getting schooled by "some random English chap in jeans and a v-neck sweater." Actually, the vid is of of Devin getting hustled, White Men Can't Jump style by Stuart Tanner, an English Skip-to-my-Lou type school-yard legend. Enjoy folks!
The BEST Barack Impression

The High Price of Ignorance
Man...there are folks who are oblivious, and wish to remain so just to justify not wanting to support someone who is smarter than them...or more noble, or quite simply, isn't the same color. These folks, in their blinding support of the demagogue, Sarah Palin, have resorted to FOX noise-esque antics of over-talking and making baseless accusations whenever asked a question w/substance. IF McCain wins this country, then it will have received EXACTLY what it deserves!

A GREAT Keith Olbermann impression!!!
If you guys don't know, I'm quite the Keith Olbermann fan. I was pissed when NBC took him off of it's coverage of the RNC b/c Fox accused him of being too left-leaning. If that isn't the pot calling the kettle a kitchen utensil. SMDH Anywho, this guy does a GREAT impression of Keith. Enjoy!

Okay guys...this is it; I'm finally coming clean. Straight "Cunt" Express!!!
Wow...did YOU know that John McCain called his wife a cunt in 1992? Nor did I...until I saw this posted on dallas penn's blog. My question is how in the heck does this NOT get mentioned in the media? Sen. Obama can be held accountable for what his minister says but McCain isn't publicly scathed for calling his wife one of the most derogatory references to female genitalia in the English language? Man...what part of the game is this?
Lazy Saturday...

The Choice is Clear...

Y'all...I'm so proud of you. Those of you who got off of your humps, and actually voted to place a Black man in the race for the highest office in the land. Not only a Black man, but the most qualified person in the field who ran. The most impresssive candidate that's run for President in my lifetime. In my opinion, the most ethical, honorable, God-fearing, intelligent, and worthy gentleman who has EVER run for the office of President is now the Democratic nominee, and Lord protect him, has a chance to win the office. Now, my greatest worry is his and his family's safety. Senator Obama...you and yours are in my prayers. Congrats...

Chris Brown can MOOOOOOOVE!!!
Okay...having had a brother who was in a "popping crew" when I was growing up, I've seen some folks dance that did some things that I thought were pretty amazing. Heck...I can do the damn-thing a lil, myself (get two drinks in me, and I'm pop-locking and ATTEMPTING backflips...with my fat arse! LOL!). That being said, I think Chris Brown is the only one of these young R&B cats that doesn't make me wanna choke 'em. That's prolly b/c he's the only one I think isn't a romance novel and an ass-whupping away from letting a man aid them in testing their gag-reflex thresholds (sorry Usher and Omarion fans). Anywho, this lil cat GETS OFF in this video. Check it out!
Okay Kobe...I ain't buying this one
Hey folks. I'm cheering for the Lakers to finish off the Spurs in the West Coast finals b/c the Spurs eliminated my beloved Hornets, so yes....I've even cheered for Kobe (those who know me know how painful that is to admit). I think he's an arrogant turd, but an incredible player, and prolly the most talented I've ever seen (though I still won't say he's better than Jordan b/c he's far from accomplishing all that Jordan has). Still, even though I think his ability is something like a phenomenom, he and Nike have taken this a lil too far. I think this stunt was accomplished by using an air assist board like Hollywood stuntmen often do. What do you think?

Bullies Beware...

It was recently reported that music industry bully, Suge Knight, got into an altercation with a guy at a night club and got KNOCKED THE FCUK OUT!!! I saw this, and did the robot! Being that I have a RAGING Napoleon complex, and possess a unequivocal love for bullies being pummelled, I was ecstatic about this news, and dare I say....had a single tear of joy form in my left-eye. Every dog has his day, Suge; some even have two, and I'm glad you finally got yours. Of course, Suge's entourage jumped the guy and beat him up, but pictures of Suge's ass being laid out like some cold-cuts on a $5-dollar foot-long have been forever immortalized. Thanks TMZ...I knew you were good for something!

Obama...one pretty, badd, mofo....
Man...I gotta give props where props is due; this cat, Darien Dauchan, has, quite eloquently, expressed how I feel about Barack...almost to the letter. I'm sorry y'all....I love the Senator to the point where I've seriously considered trying to join the Secret Service so that I could have his back should he win the highest office in the land. I told one of my coworkers that I ALMOST shed a single tear over the thought that if Senator Obama won the presidency, I could, for the first time in my life, honestly say that I love my president. Okay...all of my man-crushes aside, peep out this truly beautiful piece of work. (Thank Nik!)

Kobe is INCREDIBLE!!!
I have HATED Kobe Bryant for YEARS...but after the assault case and the media's assault of his character, I think he's humbled himself quite a bit. What can I say? He's grown on me a little. Anywho, I've ALWAYS begrudgingly admitted that I think he's the most skilled and talented player I've EVER seen...even when he's being an arrogant jack-ass, and I'll never take anything away from him. That being said, I've seen him do some pretty AMAZING things...and this definitely has to be right at the apex of those things. Check this out.
INCREDIBLE, right?
INCREDIBLE, right?

You think Obama's pastor is bad?
Since the release of the video of Pastor Jeremiah Wright's incendiary sermons, Sean Hannity, and other conservative demagogues of his ilk, have been bashing Sen. Obama, asking how he could remain a member of Reverend Wright's church after hearing his "hate-speeches". After viewing this video, we should perhaps bring forth those same questions to Hannity concerning the vitriolic, racist rantings of his pastor, Jesse Lee Peterson. I suppose, since Peterson is black (in appearance only), it's okay if he calls black people lazy, and blames them for their own suffering, especially with what they endured after Hurricane Katrina. What do you guys think?
In loving memory of James Brown
I know this is an old one y'all...but it's SO CLASSIC! Hours and hours of laughs...

Not experienced enough my @$$!!!
Hey folx, this was jacked straight from Amadeo's blog, so please check him out at www.amadeo.blogsome.com That being said, act like there are two big old quotation marks around this, and enjoy!
A light in the darkness
Normally I read article online and the commenters just piss me off. Naturally I had to share something with you guys where someone actually posted something that a) made sense b) could be verified and c) wasn’t just spewing more crap they heard somewhere else.
*edit: I wouldn’t count two of Clinton's…I’m sure every person in a political office in New York wrote or proposed something in regards to 911.
Good Morning Everyone! As you can see, Senator Obama has much more LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE than Hillary. Looks like Hillary has spent her senate day names postoffices & buildings! Hillary has not INITIATED one bill!!
“Senator Clinton has based her campaign on an erroneous claim to greater legislative and administrative experience. Former President Clinton talks up her role in his administration on the campaign trail but pointedly refuses to release any documents that would provide greater details on her actual activities there. It is broadly understood that Hillary spearheaded the response team that staved off Republican attacks and spun the many scandals of the Clinton years. As to her Senate record, no one in the press has had the diligence to lay out her record for the public to assess.
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I’ll post them here for you.
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O’Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men’s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men’s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty.
Only five of Clinton’s bills are more substantive.
16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.
There you have it, the facts straight from the Senate Record.
Now, I would post those of Obama’s, but the list is too substantive, so I’ll mainly categorize. During the first (8) eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.
In all since enter the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record for someone who supposedly has no record according to the spin meisters and mindless twits. I challenge Clinton supporters to name a single legislative accomplishment that demonstrates her superior experience.

Derrick Ashong is voting for Obama!
Okay....I know that some of you don't know this brother (that's okay...I didn't either), but after seeing his response to a interviewer who was questioning (see railroading ) his decision to vote for Senator Obama, I definitely had to check this brother out. Plopped him into youtube, and bam! He has posted a LOT of things. This brother is ON POINT, and fully articulates many of the reasons why people have embraced Senator Obama as the candidate of change and have, for the first time in their lives, had "the audacity to hope." Enjoy!
